Why Choose Vinyl Sheet

What You Need to Know About Luxury Sheet

Exploring vinyl sheet flooring as a possible option for your home? Here is some helpful information regarding the most common questions about vinyl sheet flooring.

Installation

While it may seem that vinyl sheet flooring is simple enough to install by yourself because there is no grout to deal with and it comes in wide sheets that can be cut to fit with no or few seams, there are things to keep in mind: the weight and bulk of a roll of flooring can be unwieldy to manage, and cutting it to fit perfectly can also be challenging if you aren’t experienced. On the plus side, vinyl sheet flooring can be installed over almost any existing floor type, providing the surface is flat, smooth and dry.

DIY

While we recommend hiring a professional installer for the best results, if you’re a skilled DIYer, we have plenty of advice, step-by-step instructions and helpful tips.

Options

There are two options for installing vinyl sheet flooring, depending on your product choice and personal preference: Loose Lay – The vinyl is cut in place and held down in heavy traffic areas with double-sided tape. Full-Spread Adhesive – You spread either a releasable or permanent adhesive over the subfloor or existing floor, then lay down the sheet vinyl.

How Do I Maintain My Vinyl Floor?

One of the advantages of vinyl sheet flooring is its easy care. Simple things like using mats or rugs in high-foot traffic areas and room thresholds and adding coasters or protective tips to the base of furniture legs to avoid scratching the floor’s protective coating will go a long way to keeping your floor looking like new for a long time. Congoleum Flooring with the extra protection of ScotchgardTM Protector makes our floors very resilient to stains and scuffs that can easily be wiped away. Regular sweeping and an occasional damp mopping with vinyl-safe cleaning products will keep your floor looking like new. Check out our tips on how to care for your vinyl flooring.
